Water Marble Tutorial.
Supplies: orange stick or toothpick, shot glass or cup (the smaller the circumference, the less polish you end up wasting), room temp. water, nail polish, tape (optional, but it helps with the clean up)
I like to begin by prepping my nails with base coat and one coat of polish. Here I used China Glaze Innocence for a nice neutral base.
Steps:
 1. Fill your cup with some warm or room temperature water. If the water is too cold, the nail polish will seize up.
 2. Choose the polishes you want to work with; keep in mind the opacity of the polish you are using, if its too sheer, it might not look right.
 3. I like to begin with the lightest color. Load up the brush and let a big drop of polish fall into the water. Continue with the other colors until you have a few concentric circles of polish in the water.
 4. Using the toothpick or orange stick, drag through the polish from the edge toward the middle. Continue to drag the stick through the polish until you find a design that you think looks pretty.
 5. Optional: tape around the edge of the nail to protect your finger from becoming covered with nail polish. Scotch tape works perfectly for this.
 6. Holding your finger horizontally, dip your fingernail into the glass, making sure it is completely submerged.
 7. Use the toothpick/orange stick to trace around your finger, gathering up all the unused nail polish in the glass.
 8. Lift your finger out of the glass, and let dry before taking the tape off.
 9. Continue with your other nails until you have a full set of beautifully water marbled nails.
 10. Slick on your favorite top coat and Voila! All done!
Most importantly, have fun! As with any type of nail art, practice makes perfect, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time.
We would love to see pictures of all your water marbling attempts, so get dipping!

T-Shirt Headband
What You Need: an Old T-Shirt, Fabric Scissors, Ruler or Tape Measure
How To:

1. [SHOWN ABOVE] Cut 3 long strips of fabric from your t-shirt. Mine measure approximately 1 inch wide by 34 inches long. The measurements are really your preference. If you’d like a thicker headband, cut the fabric wider. Simple as that.
*

2. Take the 3 pieces of fabric and tie a knot several inches from the end of the fabric. This will act as your “tail” to tie the headband around your head.
*

3. Braid the fabric until the braided area is long enough to reach around your head. Tie a knot, just like in Step 2.
*

4. Your completed headband should look something like this. Now place it on your head, tie a knot to keep it tight, and you’re done!
*
*TIPS: Use a colorful or patterned fabric to create a more unique look. Or get ready to celebrate the 4th of July using red, white, and blue fabric! For a different look, you could use ribbon or shoelaces. You can even try cutting a longer fabric and making a braided belt or necklace! :)

Campfire Candle
What You Need: Glass Candle Holder, Tealight Candle, Hot Glue Gun, Sticks
How To:

1. [SHOWN ABOVE] Gather sticks from outside, (preferably ones that have already fallen off of the trees.) ;) Make sure you get enough sticks so you don’t have to keep running outside for more (…I had to do this.) Once you have gathered the sticks, break them into small pieces that are a little taller than your glass candle holder. I made mine about 1 inch taller but it is really your preference.
*

2. Using the hot glue gun, glue one side of a stick. Immediately place it onto the glass candle holder. (Be careful not to burn yourself & try to keep the glue as neat as possible.) Make sure that you keep the glass holder on a flat surface when gluing the sticks so that the holder will rest evenly on a table when the project is complete ...meaning, don’t hold the glass in your hand when you’re gluing the sticks on. Firmly hold the sticks onto the glass until the glue dries.
*

3. Continue gluing sticks onto the glass until they cover the whole circumference of the glass. Don’t worry about the small spaces left between the sticks. The spaces will determine how much light flickers through the glass when the candle is lit.
*

4. Once all of your sticks are glued, put your tealight into the glass holder and light it!
*

5. Turn off the lights in the room & watch your candle glow! It sortof resembles a campfire, right?

Dry Erase BoardWhat You Need: an old Picture Frame, Scrapbook Paper or Fabric with a cute/simple pattern, and a Dry Erase Marker
How To: Simply measure the scrapbook paper or fabric to the correct dimensions of your frame. Place the paper/fabric into the frame. You’re DONE! (My only suggestion is to buy a good dry erase marker. I bought one of the cheap ones and they don’t work too well!) This is cute to use for shopping lists or to-do lists.

T-Shirt BraceletWhat You Need: a Large t-shirt, Scissors, Tape Measure or RulerHow To:
1. (SHOWN ABOVE) Use scissors to cut a long strip of fabric from the t-shirt. Fabric strip should measure approximately 1 inch wide by 55 inches long.*

2. Using your right hand, start by placing the fabric behind your ring finger and weave it in front of your pinky finger. Keep approximately 3 inches of fabric loose & resting on the palm of your hand.*

3. Using the long end of fabric, wrap fabric behind your pinky and in front of your ring finger. The fabric should hang loose behind your hand. (NOTE: When wrapping the fabric around your fingers, be careful. Do not wrap the fabric too tight because you will obviously lose circulation to your fingers.)
*

4. Loop the fabric behind your 2 fingers and then in front of them. Again, rest the fabric behind your hand.
*

5. Take the bottom (original/single) loop on your pinky finger and pull it over the big loop.
*

6. Now pull the single loop on your ring finger over the big loop.
7. Make a new (big) loop around your fingers and repeat steps 4, 5, & 6 until the braided chain is long enough to fit around your wrist (approximately 5-6 inches long). During this process (after every few knots), gently pull the small loose piece of fabric (the fabric that’s resting on the palm of your hand) to keep the braids tight and defined.
*

8. Gently remove your fingers from the braid.
*

9. Pull the loose fabric through the left loop and then up through the right loop.
*

10. Now pull the fabric to tighten it!
*

11. Simple enough, right? You’re done! Now just wrap the bracelet around your wrist, tie the loose ends into a knot and cut the excess fabric.
